Hi! I’m a high school girl in the U.S. and I’m part of the National Die-In organization. That’s not very specific, but it’s the best I can give you. I’ll be writing for this website anonymously to respect my parents’ wishes. Remember you can always find a way to make your voice heard.
Social medias: maybe someday. Check out @nationaldiein everywhere.
Why I fight: I fight for the people who no longer can. I fight for the 58, the 17, the 10. I fight so that my little sister, who is the same age as most of the victims of the Parkland shooting, won’t have to ever lose her friends. I fight because I am lucky enough that the color of my skin doesn’t make me a target. I fight because it scares me that I feel relieved when I see only one person died in the latest shooting. I refuse to accept this world as a reality we must live with. Our generation is ready to question why we let the status quo be perpetuated when it is a living nightmare. The U.S. doesn’t have to be this way. I fight to change it.
